The latest on Pat Haden's appeal to NCAA

USC athletic director Pat Haden met with the NCAA this week to once again discuss the sanctions imposed on USC in 2010 stemming from the Reggie Bush scandal... On Friday morning reports surfaced that the NCAA denied Haden's latest appeal - but could there be more to it?

USC athletic director Pat Haden released a statement Thursday via the USC Blog announcing he and USC's vice president for athletic compliance Dave Roberts met with the NCAA to further discuss the sanctions imposed on USC in 2010.

The meeting came on the heels of the NCAA's announcement that sanction relief is on its way for Penn State in the form of restored scholarships.

On Friday morning ESPN.com published a report stating the the NCAA released a statement with the following: There is no comparison between USC and Penn State. USC's appeal was denied and there is no further consideration being given.

No statement or report has been published on the NCAA's official website on the matter.

A source inside USC has told FOX Sports SCPlaybook that the NCAA has yet to discuss any ruling on the appeal with the university.
