Everyone is 'alive' according to Kiffin

USC head coach Lane Kiffin discusses redshirts and injuries as the Trojans travel to Tempe (Ariz.) to face Arizona State...

USC head coach Lane Kiffin said after practice this week that every player on the Trojans' roster is considered 'alive' at this point in the season, meaning none have been designated as redshirts.

"We have to," Kiffin explained. "If you really knew the numbers that were out there you'd understand why."

Now preparing for the fifth game game on their 13 game schedule, freshmen Max Browne, Khaliel Rodgers, Nico Falah, Kenny Bigelow and Chris Hawkins have yet to see any action, but according to Kiffin still very well could.

"We're very close to the guys who have not played playing for us.

"We're keeping them all alive and a lot of the guys who haven't even played yet and you'd think would be redshirting are taking reps with the first and second units."

USC announced only 56 scholarship players will be making the trip to Tempe (Ariz.) to face the Sun Devils on Saturday.

Falah tweeted that he is among players traveling.

Kiffin announced after Thursday's practice that offensive lineman Zach Banner, cornerback Devian Shelton, and defensive lineman Greg Townsend Jr. are all out for the season due to injury.
