Orgeron's previous head coaching experience came at Mississippi from 2005-2007.
Orgeron addressed the media during Sunday's press conference. He said he "appreciated" Lane Kiffin and the work he put into the program. Orgeron then vowed to restore the "fun and joy" in USC football.
The interim head coach announced that quarterbacks coach Clay Helton will assume the role of offensive coordinator and will call plays for the remaining eight games of the season.
