There was a shakeup in USC's secondary on Saturday in the Trojans 19-3 win over Utah.

Safety Josh Shaw was moved to cornerback and safety Dion Bailey was unavailable in the first half due to injury.

With the changes, freshman Leon McQuay made his first career start.

In the second quarter, McQuay intercepted Utah quarterback Travis Wilson for his first career pick.

Fellow freshman Su'a Cravens intercepted Wilson on the Ute's following offensive series. It was Cravens' team leading third interception of the season.

"When we recruited both of those guys we signed two of the best safeties in America," interim head coach Ed Orgeron said after the game. "Leon is a great example of someone who steps up. He's been working hard and solving problems."

McQuay also recorded three tackles in his first start.
