93,607 cheering fans packed the Coliseum full Saturday night as USC lined up to take on a very physicaly Stanford. The Trojans were in the red zone early in the first and USC fullback Soma Vainuku came away with the first touchdown of the game.
It was also the first touchdown of his career.
After the game, Vainuku said the Trojans had been practicing that play all week and that offensive coordinator Clay Helton told Vainuku they were going to score on it.
Vainuku, who has also been making a big impact on special teams, said he was just happy he could set the tempo for the Trojans' 20-17 upset.
