Sarao talks stopping Stanford's run game

USC linebacker Anthony Sarao recaps breaking down the Cardinal's run game Saturday night in the Trojans' 20-17 upset win.

During the days leading up to the Trojans' match up with Stanford, the USC defense knew the Cardinal would try to run the ball up the middle. A lot.

That game plan was sucessful for the Cardinal against Oregon, but the Trojan defense was too prepared to let Stanford come away with the win. Eventually, USC pulled away with the 20-17 upset win in the final seconds of the game.

After the victory, USC linebacker Anthony Sarao, who lead the team in tackles, said they just stuck with the game plan they developped over the week. Plus, the sold out crowd and energy on the field helped to push the Trojans to an upset win.

With players like Lamar Dawson and Morgan Breslin out, Sarao has had the opportunity to start and linebacker and says he is thankful for the chance and wants to continue to prove himself each week.

Note: USC is 5-0 in Pac-12 play under interim head coach Ed Orgeron.
