Trojans prepare for Buffs, Richardson

USC (8-3) will face Colorado (4-6) in a primetime matchup Saturday night in Boulder. The Trojans secondary spent the week preparing for Colorado receiver Paul Richardson.

The Trojans have faced a number of strong receivers through 11 games this season, but a few USC defensive players said this week they've faced none as good as Colorado's Paul Richardson.

Richardson is the Buffs' record holder for receptions and receiving yards in a game.

In ten games this season, the junior receiver has caught 71 passes for 1,201 yards including nine touchdowns.

USC interim head coach Ed Orgeron says the Trojans spent plenty of time focusing on Richardson during film sessions this week.

"[Richardson] gets a lot of credit from us," Orgeron explained. "He's very fast, he's a good player... one of the better player's we've seen this year."

"He's the best receiver I've seen on film this year," said cornerback Josh Shaw.

Richardson was a 2010 four-star recruit out of Gardena (Calif.) Serra high school.
