Rivalry respect, Mora votes for Orgeron

UCLA head coach Jim Mora speaks highly of Orgeron, announces he voted him as Pac-12 Coach of the Year...

There might be a rivalry game Saturday between No. 23 USC and No. 22 UCLA, but Bruin head coach Jim Mora isn't letting that get in the way of commending Trojan interim head coach Ed Orgeron on a job well done.

Since the firing of head coach Lane Kiffin who led USC to a 3-2 start, Orgeron has gone 6-1 as interim head coach.

After Monday's practice at UCLA, Mora said under Orgeron the Trojans "Look like they're having a lot of fun playing football."

"He gave them a real spark," More continued.

Something that wasn't always the case under Kiffin.

Mora thinks so highly of the job done by Orgeron, he admitted Monday that he voted him as Pac-12 Coach of the Year.

"I don't know if I'm allowed to tell you this, but I'm going to tell you this" Mora said to reporters, "I voted for him for Pac-12 Coach of the Year last night.

"That's the kind of job I think he's done."

Orgeron was unaware on Tuesday that Mora publicly announced his vote for him as Pac-12 Coach of the Year.

"That's nice of him," Orgeron said. "That's really a compliment to our football team and our coaching staff."

USC takes on UCLA on Saturday at 5pm PT in the Coliseum.
