Uko announces for NFL

USC redshirt junior George Uko has announced he will enter the 2014 NFL draft...

USC redshirt junior George Uko announced via Twitter on Tuesday that he will forego his final season of eligibility as a Trojan to enter the 2014 NFL draft.

"Thank you for everything Trojan family," Uko said via his Twitter feed (@Uk0SC90), "but me and my family have decided its best for me to go I have decided to enter the 2014 NFL Draft."

Uko started on the defensive line at defensive tackle his redshirt sophomore season in former defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin's 4-3 defense. He moved to defensive end in defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast's 3-4 defense in 2013.

In 14 games played in his final season at USC, Uko ranked 11th on the Trojans' defense making 36 tackles. He collected five sacks and recovered a fumble.

Uko is the third player to declare early for the draft. Safety Dion Bailey and center Marcus Martin have already announced.
