Davis was on the campus of USC Monday morning. However, he will not coach snap of football at USC in 2014.
Alabama coach Nick Saban recently lost defensive line coach Chris Rumph to Charlie Strong's new coaching staff at Texas.
Since Rumphs' departure, rumors of former USC interim coach and defensive line coach Ed Orgeron replacing him on Saban's staff had been picking up steam.
However, it will be USC's newest defensive line coach - not the one of the past - who will leave Troy for the Crimson Tide.
Davis spent the last three seasons coaching defensive tackles for the Longhorns. Prior to joining the staff at Texas, Davis spent eight of his nine seasons coaching with Saban at Alabama, LSU and Miami.
There are currently no names in the candidate pool to replace Davis. Though you can be sure, Ed Orgeron's will once again surface. Sources close to the program tell SCPlaybook they do not believe Orgeron will return.
Update: USC coach Steve Sarkisian has confirmed that Davis will leave USC for Alabama. "We wish Bo and his family the best of luck. He is a good coach," Sarkisian said in a statement on the USC athletics blog. "We will move forward and find a great coach for our defensive line."
