2014 five-star narrows his list to three

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco offensive guard Damien Mama announced the final three programs involved in his recruitment. The five-star recruit will make his college decision Feb. 5, National Signing Day.

With just a week until Feb. 5 National Signing Day, Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco offensive guard Damien Mama has narrowed his list of schools to just three.

The five-star recruit announced Wednesday via Twitter that Alabama, BYU, and USC are the programs he will choose from on National Signing Day.

Notably absent from his top three is UCLA.

After an in-home visit earlier in the week from UCLA coaches, Mama decided to take his final official visit to Westwood (Calif.) to see the Bruins, canceling his originally scheduled trip to BYU.

Scout's Greg Biggins is reporting Mama has now canceled his trip to UCLA.

Mama, Scout's No. 2 offensive guard in the 2014 class, is considered a strong lean toward USC.

He official visited the Trojans Jan. 24. with fellow "Uces" - Samoan brothers - Viane Talamaivao and Juju Smith. Talamaivao is a 2014 USC commit. Smith, the No. 1 safety in 2014, is uncommitted but is also considered a heavy USC lean.

Mama's three other official visits were to Wisconsin, Notre Dame, and Alabama.

Alabama coach Nick Saban visited Mama at St. John Bosco a week ago.

Mama will make his final college announcement Feb. 5 at St. John Bosco high school.
