California, Florida line
USC is keeping its pipeline to Florida alive, at least for another year.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines cornerback Lamont Simmons has faxed his National Letter of Intent in to USC.

The three-star cornerback took an official visit to Los Angeles a few weeks ago, deciding then he wanted to be a Trojan.

He took other officials to Arkansas, Auburn, Penn State, and Rutgers.

Simmons is Scout's No. 43 rated cornerback nationally.

Scout recruiting analysts say he's a fast-rising star.

Simmons impact
Cornerback obviously was a position of need for USC in 2014 and coach Steve Sarkisian recruited plenty of them.

Simmons will be in the mix immediately in the fall to try to earn a spot in the Trojans secondary.
