Smith is a Trojan

Long Beach (Calif.) Poly five-star Juju Smith is staying local. The nation's No. 2 rated safety announced for USC on National Signing Day.

Smith staying home
Long Beach (Calif.) Poly five-star Juju Smith announced Wednesday he will be staying local to play college football at USC.

It came down to a National Signing Day decision for Smith who seemed legitimately torn between the Trojans and Oregon Ducks.

Rumors leading up to Wednesday had Smith closer than ever to leaving the state for Eugene, but USC was able to hold on.

Smith, the nation's No. 2 rated safety, is part of a close group of players who are now all Trojans including Toa Lobendahn and Damien Mama.

Juju's impact
Is there room for Smith in USC's corps of safeties? It's most certainly a question he asked the Trojan staff before committing to them on National Signing Day.

When you're a five-star prospect, they certainly make room.

Smith should be an impact played for USC immediately.
