2015 Fresno (Calif.) Clovis North defensive tackle Jacob Daniel took an unofficial visit to USC when the Trojans' coaching staff hosted an elite junior day Feb. 1.

Daniel is familiar face to USC coach Steve Sarkisian and his Trojan staff; he verbally committed Washington in November before reopening his recruitment when Sarkisian left the Huskies for USC.

"When Coach Sark moved, I was shocked," Daniel said over the telephone with SCPlaybook. "But it was a good move for him."

Daniel admits although he gave Sarkisian his early word at Washington, he is now going to take his recruitment "day by day "and and won't be rushing into any future decisions.

He did say, however, he wants to make a verbal commitment before the start of his 2014 high school football season.

"I just don't want to have to worry about it when I'm playing," he explained.

The 6-foot-4 258-pound defensive tackle said he was impressed by everything he saw at the Trojans' junior day.

"The campus was beautiful," he said. "I've never seen the football facilities before, they were amazing. Everything is brand new."

Daniel was also impressed by the Trojan history on display throughout Heritage Hall and the John McKay Center.

Inside the USC locker room hung a No. 90 jersey for him to try on, "I could see myself in Cardinal and gold," he said.

If his previous commitment is any indication, he could also see himself playing for the Trojan coaches.

"[Steve] Sarkisian, [defensive coordinator Justin] Wilcox, [recruiting coordinator Peter] Sirmon -- they were all my recruiters at UW," Daniel explained. "I talk with Coach Sirmon more than anybody else. He tells me he really wants me at USC.

"I talked a lot with [defensive line coach Chris] Wilson," Daniel continued. "HE said he would love to have me and coach me, too."

Daniel says he spent most of his time during the visit with fellow 2015 recruits Gardena (Calif.) Serra defensive lineman Rasheem Green and Concord (Calif.) De La Salle defensive lineman Kahlil McKenzie.

"I got a good feel for the guys USC is looking at for 2015," he said.

The four-star prospect currently holds 19 offers from schools in the Pac-12, Big 10, and SEC amongst others.

He told SCPlaybook he's begun to narrow his list, though isn't ready to officially announce who he's thinking about the most.
