VIDEO: USC Sound Bites, 3-13-14

Trojan defensive players and coaches discuss the first week of spring practices.

Leading the new USC defense is defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox. Wilcox said the Trojans are quick to pick up their scheme, as it was similar to former defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast's plays just with different terminology.

Returning starting linebacker Hayes Pullard has been put in a leadership role yet again this year. Pullar discussed their new defensive schemes and their new strength and conditioning workouts.

Josh Shaw has been sidelined the first week of spring practice due to a stress fracture in his foot. Shaw is wearing a boot as a precautionary measure and said he sustained the injury during the fall.

The Trojans will head back to Howard Jones Field on Saturday for their last practice before they head off for spring break.
