A quick recruiting update from Tilford

Upland (Calif.) athlete Nathan Tilford gives a quick recap on his recruiting process and where the Trojans stand.

Upland (Calif.) athlete Nathan Tilford still has a few years before he picks up a hat and signs with a college. After all, he is only a freshman in high school.

A 6-foot-1 and 203 lbs., Tilford looks—and plays—older than he really is. And it's that natural ability on the field has already attracted offers from USC, UCLA, Arizona State and Arizona.

And it looks like this Southern California guy wants to stay local.

"I think it's between USC and UCLA," said Tilford.

The Trojans were the first offer for Tilford, coming in before he even stepped foot in his high school hallways. So what does Tilford really like about USC?

"Their coaching," said Tilford. "I was just down there the other day. They're really into it, motivating their guys."

Tilford said he hasn't been talking to anyone specific himself at USC, as his coach is the one staying in contact with the program.

With three more years of high school football ahead of him, Tilford says he wants to improve upon his "skill level and working on being a better team captain."
