Lucier-South checks out USC

Despite living just an hour away from campus, Orange Lutheran (Calif.) defensive lineman Keisean Lucier-South took his first unofficial visit to USC over the weekend to watch the Trojans practice.

Keisean Lucier-South is a top 25 player nationally and one of the top pass rushers in the country. He earned DL MVP honors at the SoCal NIKE Camp and has the ability to play in any defensive scheme, either a 4-3 defensive end or a 3-4 outside linebacker.

Despite living relatively close to campus, Lucier-South made his first unofficial visit to USC last Friday.

"There were a few times I was supposed to come up but I always had a conflict," Lucier-South said. "I actually did visit when I was little but this was my first time on an actual football visit, meeting with the coaches and touring the campus. I loved it, I had a great time and learned a lot about the school.

"I spent a lot of time with Coach Sark, Coach Wilson and Coach Wilcox. We toured the campus, they showed me around and then we sat down and went over their defense. They said they plan to run multiple fronts but see me as a pure pass rusher. I really enjoyed myself there and felt a strong connection with all the coaches."

Lucier-South said he's still not close to cutting down his list and plans to go through the recruiting process.

"I plan to wait until Signing Day to make my decision, I've said that from the beginning," Lucier-South said. "I can't say USC moved up my list because I don't have a list but I do like USC a lot. I don't have any other visits set right now but I'm sure I'll take a few later in the summer.

"I've been to UCLA a few times and actually made it over to practice on Saturday. That's it though, I haven't seen any other schools and until I take all my visits, I won't be able to cut my list or figure out who my leaders are. I'm not really focusing on recruiting right now, I know I have plenty of time for that." Top Stories
