Hutchinson (KS) CC five-star defensive end Marquavius Lewis garnered his 15th scholarship offer of his process from USC. The top defensive lineman at the junior college level spoke to Scout about what the offer means to him.

Defensive end Marquavius Lewis is becoming a household name on the recruiting trail. Formerly of Greenwood, South Carolina, he left high school to pursue playing football at the junior college level. He's grown to 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds, and is in the national spotlight as a five-star prospect.

He already held 14 offers that included Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, South Carolina, Tennessee, and UCLA.

The Hutchinson (KS) CC star received some big news recently as he was extended another scholarship from a prominent program.

"USC offered me and that's a school that catches my attention."

"USC offered me and that's a school that catches my attention," he admitted. "They had reached out to me a couple weeks ago and showed interest. Coach Wilson came by Hutchinson recently and gave the news of the offer."

"He seemed like a real down to earth coach," Lewis added about the Trojans' assistant. "I am able to relate with him quite a bit already, actually."

Lewis discussed what the offer from USC meant to him.

"It's another opportunity that I've been given and I'm extremely thankful," he said. "Going away far from home and experiencing a new lifestyle could help me grow even more as a person."

The five-star lineman has some knowledge on the Pac-12 program and it revolves around past success and a former head coach.

"It's a program known for winning," Lewis explained. "When I was growing up they had Pete Carroll as a coach and he had a ton of success there. They were at the top of college football. It's California and that would be a cool place to check out."

A few programs could see Lewis on their campus for a visit as he has a few spots in mind he'd like to get an up close look at.

"I'm going to want to start taking visits in the near future," he pointed out. "It's important to find out as much as you can about a school. I'd like to see USC and some southeast schools like Auburn, Alabama, and South Carolina."
