James, 'I love USC'
2015 Herriman (Utah) offensive tackle Andre James won't name his "top 8" schools for a few more weeks, but there are a few schools that seem to be in the front of the pack. James made it clear yesterday that he doesn't plan to do any traveling this summer and is saving it for his five official visits. With the current offers on the table, there are six schools that seem to be standing out: Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Utah. James' Take Ohio State - "When I was offered by the Buckeyes, I was kind of blown away. Ohio State is always in the hunt, and for them to offer me was a big deal. I love Urban. He helped get Utah on the map and has been winning ever since. I could see myself playing for Coach Meyer. The Buckeyes do a great job getting their football players to the NFL and that is something that is big for me when I am picking my school That's definitely my dream." Oklahoma - "Coach Montgomery and Coach Bedenbaugh have been great to me. They are both cool coaches and really honest recruiters. They have really taken the time to get to know me. Oklahoma is also an NFL factory, it seems like they are sending a handful of guys to the league every year. There is a huge sense of tradition in Norman, I think they've won seven national champions. You never see an Oklahoma team that isn't competitive." Oregon - "The Ducks were always kind of my dream school. I lived out there when I was younger and I have been an Oregon fan since I was in 2nd grade. The offense is awesome, they don't have a bunch of fat/heavy linemen, they can all move. I love the tempo. UCLA - "I have taken an unofficial to UCLA and the campus is awesome. It seems like a fun place to go to school. I also really like the coaching staff. Coach Mazzone, Tuiasosopo, and Klemm are constantly in contact with me. Klemm seems like he really knows what he is doing out there and I could see myself playing for him." USC - "I love USC. That offer was a big one for me. The coaching staff is great over there. Coach [Marques] Tui (Tuiasosopo) is recruiting me with Coach [Tim] Drevno and they are good guys. Coach Drevno's experience with the 49ers has a lot of appeal for me. My end goal is making it into the NFL and I think he can help get me there. USC does a good job getting their guys to the highest level. Every team in the NFL seems to have a few guys from USC on their roster." Utah - "Utah is the hometown school. I have been to Rice-Eccles Stadium for a lot of great games over the past few years. My grandfather was a Ute and that is something that means a lot to me and my family. The Utah coaches were on me early and we have really built a good relationship. I don't know if I will use an official on Utah, because it is so close to home, but I will go there for a few unofficials for sure. Get in the discussion with other USC fans in the Fight On!
