USC recruiting three-star JUCO defensive end

Butler (KS) CC defensive tackle Ulric Jones is a three-star prospect and one of the nation's top junior college players. He added three more significant offers the last few weeks, from USC, California, and Texas A&M.

Butler (KS) CC defensive tackle Ulric Jones added three more offers from top FBS programs the past few weeks. He was extended scholarships from USC, California, and Texas A&M. He is grateful for the new opportunities given to him.

"It's great to know that my hard work is paying off," Jones said. "They weren't offers that I expected to get. I'm glad I got them. I can't dwell on those successes, though. I have to keep on doing what I'm doing and keep working hard. I have everyone even and I don't have any favorites. All of my options are level."

Jones discussed his new offer from the Trojans and how he already knew the coach that reached out to him.

"[Defensive line] Coach [Chris] Wilson recruited me out of high school when he was at Michigan State," Jones pointed out. "I was at Oxford High School in Alabama and he wanted me to come up there then. He offered me and he's a cool guy that I had already known before."

"He just told me that he liked the way I played," Jones added. "He wants me to get out there on a visit. He wants me to play for them."

The Aggies are a school that the three-star junior college defensive tackle isn't too familiar with but he's eager to find out more.

"I don't know too much about them," Jones admitted. "I look forward to getting to know their staff. I want to visit down there and see how I like it. I spoke to Coach Price. He sees me as a defensive tackle. They think I can move around along the defensive line, though."

Jones already has a handful of visits he knows he wants to make.

"I want to visit Texas A&M," he noted. "I'll visit South Carolina, for sure. I'll also visit Georgia. I'll definitely be visiting Maryland, too. I'll try to make the trip out west to see USC and the other California schools as well."

Georgia and South Carolina have yet to offer Jones but have been in more contact with him lately.

"South Carolina is a great place I want to see for myself," he told Scout. "I spoke with the coach there and he's showing me a lot of interest. It's been going very well with them and hopefully I can land that offer. It'd be great to see what they're all about."
