outside linebacker Devon Kennard
was selected in the fifth round with the No. 174 pick by the New York Giants
Kennard was a fifth-year senior for the Trojans during 2014 season after being forced to redshirt his senior season since suffering a torn pectoral muscle before the open of fall camp.
Former USC interim coach Ed Orgeron
said during Kennard's final season that it was a blessing in disguise for Kennard to return for a fifth year, to move to outside linebacker.
He previously played both middle linebacker and defensive end for the Trojans.
Kennard is the third Trojan selected in the 2014 draft. Underclassmen teammates Marqise Lee
and Marcus Martin
were selected in the second and third rounds.
