Isaac to transfer
Sophomore tailback Ty Isaac confirms with Scout that he will be transferring this offseason from USC, as first reported by Rivals.com. "I have family stuff with my mom and want to be closer to home," Isaac told Scout on the telephone. Isaac emphasized that his decision to transfer did not come down to the coaching change at USC. He was a five-star recruit in former coach Lane Kiffin's 2013 recruiting class. "I had a good time at USC," Isaac said. "Last year's team was something really special." Asked if there was any issue on the team causing him to transfer, Isaac remained adamant that it is a family situation and he wants to be closer to home. "When you pick a school, you don't foresee a decision like this happening," he said. Isaac was a backup tailback last season for the Trojans. He saw significant time in the unit, which was hindered by injury all season long. Playing in all 14 games, he carried the ball 40 times for 236 yards and two touchdowns. He caught four passes for 57 yards. He says he will most likely look to transfer to a school in the Big Ten conference, telling Scout he believes he has gained a full release from the Trojans. USC now has four scholarship tailbacks on its roster, including redshirt juniors Tre Madden and Buck Allen, sophomore Justin Davis, and redshirt senior D.J. Morgan. The Trojans did not sign any tailbacks in their 2014 recruiting class. Comment on Ty Isaac transferring...
