USC defensive backs at summer practice

USC players were back on Howard Jones Field on Monday for their third player-run practice of the summer. Scout's SCPlaybook is taking a closer look at the defensive backs...

The Trojans were back in action on Monday at their third player-run practice of the summer.

Making his first appearance, as a USC player, on the practice field was five-star recruit Adoree Jackson.

Coach Steve Sarkisian has gone back and forth on whether Jackson will be playing offense or defense for the Trojans, sometimes saying he could be utilized on both sides of the ball. On Monday, Jackson was covering the right side of the field at cornerback, taking reps with the second team. He received one-on-one attention from veteran teammate Josh Shaw.

Shaw, who could potentially move back to safety in his final season, is still taking reps at cornerback.

Defensive backs still missing in action at summer practices include Devian Shelton, Ryan Henderson, and Anthony Brown.
