Mique Juarez is a great looking athlete who had a dominant year on both sides of the ball last season. He's a dual threat quarterback who threw for 977 yards, rushed for 714 yards, had 304 yards receiving and 19 total touchdowns, including two on kick returns.
He also started at linebacker and totaled 85 tackles and earned both all-CIF and all-state underclass honors from CalHiSports. He worked out at the SoCal NIKE Camp and tested very well at the NIKE SPARQ Combine running a 4.66-40 (electronic), jumped 32" in the vertical and threw the power ball 41'.
"The USC offer is really big for me," Juarez said. "USC is a big time school and to get that offer was the best feeling in the world. I worked out at linebacker and they offered me as an outside ‘backer.
"I worked really hard and felt like I had a good camp in all the drills we were doing. Coach Sirmon was giving me a lot of compliments on how I move and the strength I was showing.
"He had his eyes on me the whole time and then after we finished the camp, he told me he liked how I work and said I was a great kid. He said he can't wait to see more of me and wants me to visit as much as I can."
After the camp was over, Juarez met with Coach Sarkisian, who gave him the offer.
"Coach Sark called me over on the field and told me he was offering a scholarship," Juarez said. "USC is definitely a top choice for me right now but it's way too early for me to commit anywhere. I want to wait it out and see what other options I have.
"I camped at UCLA Wednesday and that was a cool experience too. That was my first camp and I got some good feedback from the coaches there as well. They said they liked my speed and aggressiveness . I got to tour around the campus too so that was a good visit. Right now, I'm just staying hungry and motivated and ready for my season to get going."
