USC starting quarterback Cody Kessler missed his first player-run practice of the summer on Friday morning... but it's for good reason

Kessler is participating at the Manning Passing Academy in Louisiana for four days.

In his absence, linebacker Hayes Pullard, safety Josh Shaw, and backup quarterback Max Browne led the 12th player-run practice of the summer.

It was an abbreviated session since linemen left Cromwell Field following mandatory conditioning drills with strength and conditioning coach Ivan Lewis.

Skill players stuck around to participate in 7on7 for about 45 minutes.

The Trojans will be back on the field Tuesday morning for what appears to be the final week of player-run practice before they break for a week in preparation for fall camp.
