Video, USC redshirt senior D.J. Morgan talks after day one of Trojans fall camp...

After missing the 2013 season in its entirety followed by spring practices, DJ Morgan appeared to be a long shot to ever suit up to play football in the Cardinal and Gold again.

Morgan, a redshirt senior, was also plagued by injury throughout the 2012 season.

But now in his final season of eligibility, Morgan says his injuries (knees) are mended and he's ready to get back to football.

He's also ready to get back to defense.

After lining up at tailback throughout his Trojan career, Morgan is switching to safety this season.

The move is a risky one when it comes to earning playing time, given he hasn't played defense since high school.

Morgan believes, however, playing defense will be easier on his body versus taking all the contact at tailback.

He'll compete for a job against returning starter Su'a Cravens as well as Leon McQuay and Gerald Bowman.
