Albert Toeaina may be the hottest OL prospect on the West Coast right now. He was relative unknown going into the Stanford Nike camp, but that is longer the case. He was tabbed the top OL in Palo Alto that day, beating out big time names including Derek Landri and Fred Matua. Toeaina is now considered to be a top 100 national prospect, and he has schools all over the nation battling for his services. The last time I spoke to Albert (Aug. 1), he told me that he liked Washington, LSU, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Oregon St. and Notre Dame, in that order. To see if anything had changed, I checked in with Albert this afternoon and Wash still leads but as Lee Corso would say: Not so fast my friend! Here's why:
WEARESC: So Albert, has your list of schools changed?
Albert: Nah, It's still pretty much the same.
WEARESC: Could you give your current list of schools?
Albert: In order, Wash, LSU, USC, ND, Ore.
WEARESC: Has USC offered yet?
Albert: No, not yet.
WEARESC: Would SC move up your list if they offered?
Albert: Yeah, they would be my leader, I just put them at #3 in case they don't offer me. I have an offer from Washington so I can go there and right now they're my leader.
This kid is an absolute monster and no doubt I will be calling Big Al within a month to confirm a possible USC offer and to find out if we have indeed taken the lead for his services. In case some of you missed it, I did an update on Mr. Toeaina on Aug 1, so please check that out in the archives section of WEARESC.COM for more general information on Albert.
