Javon McKinley highlights

Corona (Calif.) Centennial wide receiver Javon McKinley did just about everything he could for the Huskies Saturday night in the CIF Open Division Championship against Concord De La Salle at the StubHub Center. The 2016 wideout caught six passes for 153 yards and two first half touchdowns.

His first score came on a simple wide receiver screen pass. He made one player miss and was off to the races for a 87-yard score. There wasn't a De La Salle player that was going to be able to run him down from behind. Later in the half, Nate Ketteringham threw up a jump ball. McKinley leaped and tipped the ball. The cornerback fell to the wayside as the USC target snatched the ball for a 25-yard touchdown.

In the second half, he made his impact on special teams. De La Salle had kicked away from McKinley and had put nearly every kickoff into the end zone prior to McKinley grabbing a kick at the 9-yard line and taking it to the house for his third score of the game. McKinley's monster game proved not to be enough since De La Salle dominated the ground game, rushing for a bowl-game record 559 yards and nine touchdowns in a 63-42 victory.
