Ykili Ross on new coaching staff, working through redshirt year

USC freshman defensive back Ykili Ross couldn't play last year as he sat out as a redshirt candidate, but he continued to spend extra time after practice working on his craft and he's hoping it pays off this year.

After redshirting in the fall, USC freshman Ykili Ross is ready to make an impact, but he still is going to wait until the fall before he is medically cleared for full contact after offseason shoulder surgery.

Ross is still going through all the non-tackling drills and is working to impress the new defensive coaching staff.

Watch as Ross talks about his initial impressions of the new coaching staff, including his thoughts on Clay Helton as head coach and Ronnie Bradford as his position coach. Ross also discusses how difficult it was to sit out last year after injuring his shoulder, knowing that he wasn't going to get an opportunity to play since he was redshirting and why he continued to put in extra work after practice.
