USC recruiting: 2017 DL Jordan Williams trims list to nine

Three-star defensive lineman Jordan Williams trims list to final nine with USC one of the teams still in the mix.

Three-star Virginia Beach (Va.) Frank W. Cox defensive tackle Jordan Williams has had a busy offseason. His recruiting has really picked up with him gaining offers from all over the country, including a handful of ACC and SEC teams and a scholarship offer from USC.

With schools from all over trying to earn his attention and commitment, the recruiting process can at times be overwhelming. On Thursday, Williams made his recruitment more manageable by trimming down his final list to nine schools.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound defensive tackle is the third-ranked DT in the state of Virginia and No. 44 overall big-bodied defensive lineman. Williams narrowed his choices to three SEC schools, three ACC schools and three long-time traditional powers in Penn State, Notre Dame and USC. Of the nine schools, the Trojans are the only school not on the East Coast.

While Williams is rated as a defensive tackle by Scout, he also has the ability to rush the passer off the edge as a defensive end.
