Aca'Cedric Ware talks physical, vertical running style and potential 'Whataburger' two-back package

USC sophomore running back Aca'Cedric Ware talks depth chart, running style, new position coach Tommie Robinson and year two.

Sophomore running back Aca'Cedric Ware wasn't good at catching the ball out of the backfield when he entered USC as a freshman last year.

How bad was he?

"When I came in, I was horrible. I'm not going to lie."

With the graduation of oft-injured running back Tre Madden and fullbacks Jahleel Pinner and Soma Vainuku, the depth in the Trojans' backfield took a major hit, but Justin Davis and Ronald Jones II are expected to be the featured duo once again this season after both approached the 1,000-yard mark last season.

Don't be surprised to see Ware work his way into the battle. While he doesn't have the same flare that Davis and Jones II have, Ware is a consistent force hitting the hole. Ware says he has a one-cut running style that emphasizes getting vertical rather than dancing side to side. He feels more comfortable in his second year and thinks his physicality at the position sets him apart from his compatriots.

"When I get my shot, I'm going to take advantage."

Watch Aca'Cedric Ware talk about the depth chart and where he fits in with Justin Davis and Ronald Jones II, his running style, new position coach Tommie Robinson and year two at USC, including the possibility of a "Whataburger" package.
