Fall camp Day 2

The Trojans continue fall camp practice with day two on Thursday. Click below for a recap of the practice:

The day started with the punt team practicing coffin corner coverage. There was another session of punt team drills later in the day and Tom Malone looks fantastic.

We watched the offensive line today and they looked good. Winston Justice is playing well and he and Fred Matua are going to make a nice combination on the right side. Lenny Vandermade was solid at LG and he also shared time with Norm Katnik at center. Jacob Rogers didn't take many reps today and Nate Steinbacher took his spot with a lot of action.

The quarterback battle continued this morning with Matt Leinart and Brandon Hance taking the snaps. Leinart continued his solid start to camp with another impressive day, all the more impressive considering he is a little under the weather right now, and Hance seemed to have more energy on the field.

Omar Nazel tipped a Leinart pass which was picked off by Udeze...Dom Byrd had a real nice catch of a low throw ball from Leinart which brought cheers from the coaches...Darnell Bing had a big day in the secondary with a couple of picks although both were courtesy of tipped balls by Marcell Allmond. Marcell was laughing afterwards while wondering what it would take for him to get a pick instead of doing so much work for Darnell. Marcell is very physical and playing with a lot of confidence.

It's a better feeling seeing Shaun Cody back on the field for the Trojans (I'm sure Ed Orgeron feels the same way).
