Clay Helton interrupts classes to deliver pizza to students

Trying to drum up attention for the Spring Game, USC head coach Clay Helton delivers the goods to Trojan students.

If you are trying to attract a college student to attend an event, one sure-fire marketing ploy that always is a success is free pizza.

Clay Helton kept that in mind today.

Shortly, after attending new athletic director Lynn Swann's introductory press conference, during which Swann said he supports Helton 100 percent, Helton was riding around campus on a golf cart making some special deliveries.

Traveling with JuJu Smith-Schuster and a couple members of The Spirit of Troy marching band, Helton interrupted a couple of classes in session to deliver pizza and a message to the students to come out and support their fellow Trojans on Saturday in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum when USC holds its annual Spring Game to wrap up the spring practice schedule.

Once students saw on social media what was going on, they began making pleas for Helton to stop by their class:

The USC Spring Game is Saturday at 3 p.m. and will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks. Admission is $10 with tickets available at the gate, but free for students.
