Antwaun Woods and multiple Trojans signed to free agent contracts

Defensive tackle Antwaun Woods and at least four fellow undrafted Trojans will get his opportunity to prove themselves after signing as free agents.

USC redshirt senior defensive tackle Antwaun Woods didn't get the phone call he was hoping for during the 2016 NFL Draft, but he quickly had several suitors as soon as the draft ended when he became an undrafted free agent.

Woods and four other USC seniors that went unselected during the draft had a home less than an hour after the draft's conclusion. Woods is joining the Tennessee Titans' squad where he'll have a familiar face in defensive line meetings with former Trojan Jurrell Casey on the roster.

Here's a quick glance at where the undrafted Trojans reportedly landed on Saturday:

USC Career:

A three-year starter at the nose tackle position, Antwaun Woods collected 111 career tackles with 13.5 tackles for loss. He had eight sacks with three of those coming his redshirt freshman year and three coming as a senior. Woods also had two passes deflected and a fumble recovered during his career. While his numbers don't stand out, his Redwood forest base does.

Woods is a true space eater in the middle of the defensive line. Big and agile enough that teams weren't able to single cover him, Woods allowed his teammates to be successful by being the immovable object in the middle. There were some injury concerns

Expert Breakdown:

“Burly from his knees to his neck, Woods was a rock-steady contributor for the Trojans this year after injuries and inconsistency hampered him in the past. With that said, he lacks the size and run-stuffing element teams look for from nose tackles. Woods had a good week of practice at the NFLPA game, but will need to find a high-end play trait he can lean on as a pro.” – NFL.com
