One of the top recruiting priorities is linebacker and the Trojan coaches would love to add a JC player to the mix with some experience and size. One of the guys they will be looking at is Santa Ana College star Chad Kalilimoku, a 6-0, 235 hard hitter at MLB who is very athletic, gets terrific leverage and is known for his punishing hits.
Kalilimoku played at Roosevelt HS in Hawaii but was not highly recruited and ended up signing with Missouri Valley State only to get homesick and move back to the islands after one semester. Chad thought he was done with football but his father, who was also his high school coach, encouraged him to give it another shot and he headed to California because several former Hawaii players were on the Santa Ana team.
At a combine this past spring Chad ran a 4.7 40, benched 495 pounds, and did 28 reps on the bench with 225 pounds.
