Soon after his impressive performance at The Opening Finals Bubba Bolden announced that he was no longer a USC commit and that he would open up his recruitment.
"I felt like I rushed my commitment to USC the first time around," Bolden said. "That was my dream school and where I wanted to go since I was a kid so I committed before really even checking out all my options.
"I want to go through the process and make sure the school I pick is the best fit for me and not just the school I grew up rooting for. I want to take my time this time around and be sure I'm comfortable with the school and how I'll fit in there."
Scout.com's Brandon Huffman shares his thoughts on Bolden:
"Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman four-star safety Bubba Bolden moved in to the top safety spot in the West after putting the exclamation point on a big junior season and an even better spring with an all-Opening performance. Bolden is a rangy safety with good coverage skills and ability to take away the deep part of the field. He's strong against the run but also extremely dependable in coverage.
"He has good closing speed and will make the big hit, but is also a pretty sure tackler too instead of just trying to go for the kill-shot. He constantly plays the ball and shows high-level ball skills. Bolden is 6-2.5, 200 and still looks like he could add more weight but not lose any athleticism or speed if he grows."
