Los Angeles (Calif.) Augustus Hawkins had a somewhat disappointing season opener against Los Angeles (Calif.) Hamilton. The Hawks won 27-6 and were never really threatened, but left plenty of points on the field due to penalties calling back big gains and turning the ball over on downs multiple times inside the red zone.
It was a game to clear the cobwebs and now the team will go back to do film study to clean everything up and prepare for more challenging games down the road.
One of the players that did have a solid game was athlete Greg Johnson. Whenever the ball came his way, whether a carry at running back or a catch and run from the slot receiver spot, Johnson made the most of his chance, including a 44-yard touchdown on a receiver screen.
Unfortunately, we had a technical issue come up in the midst of that play and didn't get a good highlight of Johnson's touchdown. But we got several other plays from Johnson, which you can see above. Watch isolation clips of Greg Johnson against Hamilton.
