Four-star offensive lineman Chuck Filiaga is still getting used to his surrounding to an extent. The 6-foot-6, 335-pound offensive tackle moved to Aledo (Texas) from California this summer and that has thrown his recruitment on to the back burner to an extent.
Rather than talking to college coaches wanting him attend their school, Filiaga was more focused on getting familiar with his new teammates and coaches while learning the new scheme he would be playing in.
On Monday, the No. 179 overall player in the class mentioned that as he trimmed down his list, announcing his top 10 schools.
"I have really enjoyed getting to know my new teammates and coaches. Because they were my priority and I am at a new school, I am later than most to announce my top 10 teams I would like to focus my recruiting on," he wrote in a Twitter message.
USC is one of two West Coast schools that Filiaga is still considering. The No. 20 overall tackle and the No. 3 in the state of Texas, Filiaga also says he is considering Oregon. Like the Pac-12, the Big 10 has two teams in the running with Michigan and Nebrasha both still being looked at. He is also studying the Arkansas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, TCU, Tennessee and Texas programs.
Filiaga also added in his Tweet that he plans to take all five of his official visits. He just took a trip to Austin for the Texas/Notre Dame on Sunday.
