Four-star Katy (Texas) Cinco Ranch point guard Jay Jay Chandler made another cut to his list of collegiate choices on Monday, trimming his list down to a top five. And if his top five list is any indication, Chandler is ready to get out of Texas as all five schools are out of state. USC remained on his list along with Georgia Tech and Western Kentucky.
The other two schools in his top five, Georgia and Virginia Tech, have popped up out of nowhere in relation to his previous list of top schools. Chandler's list was sitting at nine schools a month and a half ago without either the Bulldogs or Hokies listed.
With two new schools jumping into the mix, the six programs that he appears to have taken off the board are Alabama, Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Southern Methodist.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound point guard is the third-ranked point guard in the state of Texas and is No. 4 in the Midland. He is the No. 26 point guard in the country. He was previously rated in the Class of 2017 Scout 100 at No. 85, but fell out in the most recent update.
Chandler said during the summer that USC was one of the schools that was recruiting him hardest.
