Former USC forward Nikola Jovanovic has signed with the Detroit Pistons, according to Paul Garcia of Project Spurs.
It appears Jovanovic has confirmed that report on Twitter as well:
Jovanovic left USC early, entering his name into the NBA draft after averaging 12.1 points and 7.0 rebounds as a junior last season. However, he went undrafted. Jovanovic signed on with the Pistons summer league team as one of nine players that were power forwards or centers. He got in just one game, playing 10 minutes. In his brief appearance, he scored two points with two rebounds, a steal and two blocks.
After his time in the Orlando Summer League with the Pistons, the Serbian native signed with the Lakers to play in the Las Vegas Summer League. Jovanovic got another 10 minutes to show what he could do. This time split up over two games. He scored four points on 2-of-6 shooting with four rebounds.
Jovanovic also worked out with the Lakers during a free agent minicamp in August, along with USC teammate Julian Jacobs. Jacobs was signed for their training camp roster on Sept. 1.
