USC recruiting: 2017 RB Cyrus Habibi-Likio narrows list to final eight

Cyrus Habibi-Likio trims his list of prospective schools to a final eight, including USC and four other Pac-12 schools.

Mountain View (Calif.) St. Francis running back Cyrus Habibi-Likio will be on an unofficial visit to USC this weekend, but decided to go ahead and trim his list of potential schools down before the trip even got into full swing.

"Top 8 !! I am still open to any other schools that want to recruit me, God Bless," Habibi-Likio wrote on Twitter.

Ranked as the No. 4 running back in California and No. 5 in the West, a bump in overall ranking isn't out of the question for the 6-foot-1, 200-pound three-star back, who was recently ranked by Scout as a West Coast prospect on the rise and one of the hottest recruits of the fall.

The Northern California product was previously committed to Washington State, but since his de-commitment from the Cougars, Habibi-Likio's stock has risen with schools being impressed by his physical running during his senior year. He has picked up multiple Pac-12 offers in the last couple of weeks and doesn't seem to be slowing down.

Those offers are visible in his top eight where there are currently five Pac-12 teams vying for his services. Along with USC, Utah and three Pac-12 North teams -- Oregon, California and the Cougars -- are on his list. Rounding out the top eight are BYU, Boise State and Iowa State.

Habibi-Likio has taken official visits to Utah and Boise State and has set up an official to Oregon for after the season. He expects to also officially visit the Trojans again once the season has concluded and plans to schedule a visit with the local Golden Bears.
