USC recruiting: Four-star safety announces final three

One of the top safeties in the West, K.J. Jarrell, trims his list of prospective schools to a final three, including USC.

Four-star Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro safety K.J. Jarrell announced early Friday that he was planning to cut down his list of schools:

But then he surprised everyone by making an even more serious cut to his list, eliminating all but three Pac-12 schools.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound ballhawk is the second-ranked safety in the state of Arizona and No. 5 in the West at his position. Jarrell, trimmed his list to Arizona StateCalifornia and USC.

Jarrell visited USC last month when the Trojans played Colorado. He came away impressed:

"It was another good trip with another set of good coaches," Jarrell recently told Scout of the unofficial visit. "It was a good chance to see them play. I really liked everything and the whole stadium. It was my first time being in there after hearing so much about it. It was cool and really fun to finally see a game in person. I'll get back there later on as well."

Jarrell also recently took an unofficial visit to Cal and is able to stop by Arizona State whenever he chooses since it is right down the street. The Army All-American will likely take official visits to all three schools as well as Colorado before making a National Signing Day committment.
