The Trojans are in on a lot of stars in Florida this year and one of the biggest is Chris Davis from St. Petersburg Catholic High School in Florida. Playing quarterback, the 6'0 170 pound athlete is a true multi-threat. As a junior, he threw for 1,446 yards and 11 touchdowns on 74 of 137 passing. Rushing the ball, he had 1,396 yards and 16 touchdowns. His team is 1–1 this year and in his last game he continued his spectacular play with over 100 yards passing and over 100 yards rushing. Davis also plays "a little corner", runs a 4.4 40 yard dash, and has a 35 inch vertical.
His play has garnered him attention from every big time college across the country and this is reflected in his 50 plus scholarship offers. Despite the attention he's receiving, Davis is in no hurry to make a decision and is keeping his thoughts pretty close to the vest. In fact, he would not name any leaders as far as colleges he's looking at, "I'm looking at a lot of schools. I'm pretty much wide open. I don't have any favorites." Davis did, however, admit to having interest in USC and noted that he hears from Coach Lane Kiffen. On the topic of official visits, Davis remarked "I want to take all of my trips", so don't look for an early verbal for his services. He also stated that he has no idea what schools he will visit yet.
Though a quarterback in High School, many believe Davis is perhaps the #1 wide receiver prospect in Florida this year. In fact, the Trojans are recruiting Davis as a receiver. However, he has no preference as to what position he might play in college as he stated "No, I don't really." He's sure to make a big impact at the next level at whichever position he ends up at.
