Four-star offensive lineman Penei Sewell makes his second visit to USC

One of the top offensive linemen in the region returned to USC Saturday to get a glimpse of what life is like as a Trojan football player.

While it remains early in the recruiting process, Salt Lake City (Utah) offensive lineman Penei Sewell has led his two unofficial visits to Los Angeles to build some pretty strong impressions about USC.

Saturday, Sewell used his second trip to USC to watch the Trojans participate in their first full-pad practice.

“It was a fun, especially seeing the boys in action,” said Sewell. “The practice and how they ran it — it was fun to see.

“I was looking at how the coaches coach and how they are around the players. If I go there, I’ll be with them 247, so I wanted to see their personality on the field.

“Everyone is straightforward and to the point. Coach (Neil) Callaway is definitely like that as a coach. It was good to see.”

Having visited both with his family unofficially and for a football practice this past weekend, Sewell is growing more and more comfortable with the idea of staying in Southern California.

“I would say USC is at the top,” said Sewell. “I’ve seen them more than other schools, so I’m sort of leaning toward them.

“Just going to their campus is always amazing, but any college I visit will probably make me feel that way. I think that probably influences my pick. I’m still taking my time so I can find out about that.” Top Stories
