Darreus Rogers and multiple Trojans signed to free agent contracts after the draft

Wide receiver Darreus Rogers will get an opportunity to prove himself to former USC coach Pete Carroll while eight fellow undrafted Trojans will get the chance to try to work their way up the NFL totem pole after signing as free agents.

USC senior wide receiver Darreus Rogers didn't get to hear his name called during the 2017 NFL Draft, but he quickly received a phone call after the draft's conclusion when he became an undrafted free agent.

Rogers and eight other USC seniors that were not selected during the draft have found a home in the two days since the draft's conclusion. Rogers joins a Seattle Seahawks' squad that will feature some familiar faces with former Trojan head coach Pete Carroll as well as previous USC teammates Tre Madden and George Farmer

Here's a quick glance at where the undrafted Trojans have landed:

Draft Rankings

CBS: No. 788 overall, No. 105 WR

USC Career:

After the high school All-American grayshirted in 2012, but then became a contributor as a freshman. Rogers put up very similar numbers in each of this first three years, catching between 21 and 28 passes each season for 245 to 289 yards. He didn't have any touchdowns his freshman year but had seven combined the next two seasons. Rogers had a breakout senior campaign, earning Pac-12 honorable mention after finishing with 56 catches for 696 yards and four touchdowns opposite JuJu Smith-Schuster.

He finished his career with 127 catches for 1,487 yards (11.7 avg) and 11 touchdowns. He is 17th on USC’s all-time career receptions list (127). He made 27 career starts.

Expert Breakdown:

“Rogers is one part vertical receiver with great ball skills and no deep speed and one part possession receiver with below average route-running but very good hand-eye coordination. His size will work in his favor but his ridiculously slow 40 time will make it hard for him to get a legitimate shot unless he bulks up and tries to repurpose himself as a matchup tight end.” – Lance Zeierlein, NFL.com

"He is well-built for the position with the my-ball mentality and ballskills that translate well to the NFL game, using his aggressive, natural plucking skills to be a solid possession target. However, his ordinary athleticism will limit ways to get him the ball at the next level, lacking the dynamic traits or savvy to consistently separate in coverage." -- CBSsports.com

ESPN: No. 210 overall, No. 14 OT
WalterFootball.com: No. 16 OT

Expert Breakdown:

"A move blocker with the ability to operate confidently in space while lacking the power to whip the man across from him. Lack of core strength and consistent footwork in pass protection could force him to make a move inside to guard for a zone team. Could become an eventual starter, but might be best-suited as a swing tackle on the NFL level." -- Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

Expert Breakdown:

"Solid college running back who lacks the physicality to be a consistent interior runner and the blocking ability teams expect from their third down backs. Davis has decent vision and elusiveness once he gets up to the second level, but he lacks early creativity and typically gets what is blocked for him on the first level. He could get drafted on the third day but appears to be a garden-variety, replaceable runner." -- Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

Expert Breakdown:

"Move tight end with limited pass catching production and a need for more bulk as a blocker. With decent athleticism and a willingness to work at his blocking, McNamara has a chance to make it into camp and catch a team's eye if he can stand out on special teams." -- Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

No. 148 overall prospect

Draft Rankings

CBS: No. 170 overall, No. 12 OG
ESPN: No. 175 overall, No. 9 OG
WalterFootball.com: No. 12 NT

Expert Breakdown:

"Power-based guard who can generate movement off the ball, but lacks the balance and bend to be a consistent block sustainer. Smart defenders started to time up Mama's punch in pass protection, so he will need to vary his approach, but he does have the heavy hands and sturdy base to combat bull-rushers and set a shallow anchor. Could start his career as a backup, but has the size and ability to become eventual starter." -- Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

"Has the wide-base and core strength to dominate his square, flashing violence and torque with his upper body to generate a surge in the run game and absorb rushers in pass protection. Mama can unlock his hips to handle different types of rushers, but needs to better sink and use leverage. He has the raw traits to get the job done at the next level, but the more he continues to focus on the details and mechanics of the position will be the key to his development - projects as a NFL starter." -- CBSsports.com
