Defensive lineman Trevor Trout is one of the 2018 prospects in the state of Missouri, but when he narrowed his list of potential schools to nine on Tuesday, there was only one college from the state listed.
The 6-foot-3, 319-pound four-star St. Louis (Mo.) Chaminade College Prop defensive tackle showed there is a very good chance he will be departing Missouri to play his college ball when he released his top nine schools on Twitter with a simple message:
"Bow," Trout wrote.
Rather than looking to stay local near the Show Me State, Trout's list has schools from all over the country with a wide breadth of college football's top programs in different parts of the country -- staying nearby with the state school or going southeast to Miami or out west to Los Angeles.
Rivals USC and UCLA were the only West Coast and Pac-12 schools for Trout. He has three SEC schools -- Texas A&M, Georgia and the local Missouri Tigers -- and two from the Big 12 -- Oklahoma and TCU. He also listed the ACC's Miami and the Big 10's Penn State.
On Thursday, it appears he had added a 10th school, national runner-up Alabama, when he retweeted a message referencing Trout having a top 10:
Trout is the No. 5 player from the state of Missouri and the No. 2 defensive tackle. He is No. 10 in the nation at his position and currently rated No. 140 in the Scout 300 Class of 2018.
A trench tank that will force teams to double him in the middle of the defensive line, Trout is a natural run-stopped that has an explosive first step.
