Mater Dei vs Mission Viejo preview

The Mater Dei Monarchs face the Mission Viejo Diablos on Friday night at 7:00pm on Fox Sports Net 2. The Diablos have beaten Mater Dei two years in a row and will go for the three peat on the Fox Sports Net high school Game of the Week. Click below for a listing of players to watch:

Mater Dei came into the season with high hopes after a CIF title game appearance last fall but the Monarchs stumbled in week 1 while losing to Orange Lutheran. Head Coach Bruce Rollinson will look to bring his team back against a Mission Viejo squad that has taken the Mater Dei position as the dominant team in Orange County.

#4 QB Jason Forcier (JR) – A talented thrower who will be highly recruited next year. Forcier has started at times since his freshman year and he can make all the throws while also being a pretty good runner.

#15 WR Kyle Brown (JR) – Good size (6-3, 190) with long arms.

#54 OG Tyler Perkins (JR) – A two year starter who will be recruited next year.

#71 DL Brandon Nicolas (SR) – Committed to Notre Dame. Also starts at offensive tackle.

Mission Viejo comes into the game riding a 29 game win streak with a #13 national ranking courtesy of USA Today. Bob Johnson has a young team that is full of potential, the lower level teams were undefeated last year and the freshman team was unscored upon.

#4 DE Nick Reed (JR) – Very quick off the end with good size (6-2, 230).

#6 QB Mark Sanchez (JR) – A Trojan recruit to watch. Sanchez transferred from Santa Margarita in the off-season and put together a solid summer of camps and workouts. Mark has the tools to be one of the top players around next season.

#20 WR/DB Marty Tadman (SR) – Tadman is one of the best all around players in the state. He has been offered by Arizona but that list should grow as he continues to impress with his solid play.

#42 FB Chane Moline (SO) – Started four playoff games last year as a freshman. Already a big-time player at 6-1, 225.

#44 LB Jed Collins (SR) – One of the best run stuffing linebackers around with over 100 tackles last year.

#61 LT Kevin Bemoll (JR) – Takes over for Drew Radovich on the offensive line and there are some at the school who think he has more potential than the Trojan freshman.

#88 Konrad Reuland (SO) – A talented basketball player who has terrific hands and footwork. At 6-5, 220 he is a future star. Top Stories
