Trojan coach Pete Carroll held a meeting with the USC team on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the Mike Williams situation. Carroll called it a "new frontier" that has been created with the recent NFL ruling on draft eligibility.

Mike Williams was not in attendance at the meeting as he continues to weigh his options in terms of staying at USC or leaving for the NFL. Williams had made up his mind late last week to take his game to the next level but talks over the weekend with his parents and advice from Carroll and others in regards to his potential draft status have left him undecided.

Carroll called the meeting to talk to the players about the issue and to give them background on how it got to this point. Williams did not attend the meeting on Tuesday, several other players did not make it due to class conflicts, but Carroll said he was unconcerned about the absence because Mike "obviously has things to take care of and he needs to get his mind straight on what he's doing."

The deadline for Williams to declare for the draft is March 1st. The Trojans begin spring ball drills on March 6th.
