The Trojans have recruited well in the state of Florida in recent years and they have another target in wide receiver Jessie Hester. Click below for a recap of his thoughts on USC and the recruiting process:
called on May 1st, the first day they could contact me. I wasn't home when they first called because I was out getting a tatoo and when I called back they said I missed Coach Carroll. He was on the phone the first time they called but he was out when I called back. I talked with Coach Kiffin and he was trying to get me to take a look at USC. He said they've had good luck lately with Florida receivers and he's looking forward to recruiting me. I don't know too much about them but I know they were the national champions last year, I would've given it to them. The fact that they would call me all the way out here in Florida opens my eyes a little."
As a junior he was selected to the all-county and conference team despite only playing in four games because of a broken right leg. In those four games, he caught 11 passes for 350 yds and 5 TDs.As a soph, he caught 21 passes for 370 yds and 8 TDs.
"Right now I have interest in going anywhere. My top three are Florida State, Miami and Georgia but I'm going to considering everything when choosing a school. I'll look at the coaches, the environment, the quarterback, the offense. I spent some time in Los Angeles when I was 8 or 9 when my dad played for the Rams. It's kind of far but I'm not opposed to it."
Hester Jr., is the son of former Florida State standout Jessie Hester, Sr. This summer Jessie will attend the Pitt Camp, the FSU and Miami camps as well as the Nike Camp.
