Brian was named first team All-State as a junior and Bergen County Defensive Player of the Year after he recorded 120 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 7 interceptions in a rover position on defense, plus 13 receptions for 456 yards and 7 touchdowns on offense.
At the recent Elite College Combine held at the Meadowlands, Brian ran a 3.82 pro shuttle in front of a national gathering of coaches - the fastest time at the camp. He also ran a 4.48 40 and had a 41" vertical jump. His strength numbers are BP 320/SQs 380.
Brian has over 40 offers at this point and lists some of his favorites as USC, Miami, Florida State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Boston College and Stanford. He's been offered by all those schools on his list. "All of this is coming pretty fast so I think I'm going to wait and make my decision on signing day. I could commit early but only if I feel real comfortable with the school."
We talked to Brian to get his thoughts about USC and where they stand on his wish list:
"I've just got a good feeling about USC. I've always liked them, especially with how they played this year and then they got the best recruiting class of all time. Coach Carroll is a great guy. He's enthusiastic and he's not going to hide anything. That's the kind of guy I want to play for. I talk to Coach (Todd) McNair a lot, I call him at least twice a month. I just try to get as much feedback as I can in terms of what they want from me and how much I like the school. I'm trying to figure out when I can get out there and I'm thinking it will be this summer for one of their camps at the end of June. USC is recruiting me mostly at strong safety but also a little at outside linebacker. I've got about 10 schools that are looking at me as a strong safety, some are looking at me as outside backer and some as an inside backer, some are looking at me as a fullback. I play strong safety right now and some linebacker in our defense."
